In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Gretchen had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Gretchen may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Calvin VanderWerf and Rachel VanderWerf. She is survived by: her spouse Gigi Jones; and her siblings, Klasina VanderWerf (Tom Thomas), Julie Hill (John), Lisa Hawkins (Scott), Pieter VanderWerf (Shari) and Marte Singerman (Paul). She is also survived by seven loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to any of the following: the Calvin and Rachel VanderWerf Scholarship Fund at Hope College, the Alzheimer's Association, or to Trailwinds Hospice and Palliative Care in Boulder, CO.
