With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lou Ann Shirley (Boulder, Colorado), born in Fort Morgan, Colorado, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 23, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Thora Wulf and Frank Wulf; her daughter Ann Jespersen; and her siblings-in-law, Dorothy Wulf, Savanne Shirley and Ted Castner.
She is survived by: her husband Jon Shirley; her children, Andy Jespersen (Carol Shirley) and Christy Jespersen (David Plante); her siblings, Sherri Hogelin (Charlie) and Rodney Wulf (Laurette); and her siblings-in-law, Frank Shirley (Myvanwy) and Emily Castner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
The department affectionately nicknamed her Q. In 2013, "Q" won the Community Foundation and Pat Shoemaker "Pat-on-the-Back Award" for her many years of service.
