He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Elton H. Thompson and Mayme M. Thompson; his brother Robert; his sons, Randall (Amy), Bryan (Sara) and Alan (Kathleen Briscoe); his wife Joanne; his grandchildren, Caitlin Reynolds (Jamey), Michael Thompson (Hannah), Tyler Thompson (Shayne), Casey Thompson (Chandler Zoltenko), Julia Thompson and Grant Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Reynolds, Matthew Reynolds and Annabelle Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, Milt asked that contributions be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Poudre Golden K Kiwanis or Lutheran Disaster Relief.

“Loving condolences to family of Milton Thompson. He's a cousin - one with whom my family had little contact. I remember as a small child meeting Milton; he was all grown up then. I am the daughter of Avery W. Thompson - the youngest brother of Milton's father, Elton. I am Julieanna (aka "Julieanne" Thompson). I have vague recall of Milton's parents, Elton & Mayme but knew THEIR parents, Fred & Ellen, our grandparents (Salem) well. I also met Milton's bro, Robert--I believe an atty. Godspeed!”
