He is survived by: his wife Karmen Kelsay; his stepsons, Tyler and Nichollas; his daughter Amanda Bolejack (Jacob); his grandchildren, Noah, Benjamin, Addelynn and Emmersyn; his daughter Melanie Hutton (Mike); his grandchildren, Zachary and Lily; his son Chase Kelsay; and his sisters, Kris Bielack and Karen Lundberg.

“Karmen, Last night I learned of Doug's passing. I am so sorry I didnt know sooner. To say the least I was stunned for some time at how the lord could take him so soon. I dont keep in touch with many from County and those that I do talk with, Its not very often. Doug was an absolute riot to work with and a great teacher. He was hard as a nail, but as fair as it gets when dealing with crooks. I know he was SWAT and very good. just a guy you wanted on your side. we had lots of laughs. Mike Cran”
