He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jerry" Anderson and Theckla "Tex" Anderson; and his sons, Gary, James and David.

He is survived by: his wife Berniece Brown; his children, Les Anderson and Joyce Thaden (Doug); his grandsons, Don Lockman (Michelle) and Keith Anderson (Jessie); and his sister Geraldine Mayfield.

While still working he would go to the farm after work and then after retirement spent most of his days there, stopping only when Covid hit.
