Myron Wagner Obituary
Myron J. Wagner, 73, of Brighton passed away on January 3, 2019. He was born on February 11, 1945 in West Union, Minnesota to Bernard and Viola L. (Guenther) Wagner. Myron graduated from high school in Paynesville, MN in 1962. After graduating from high school Myron started his working career with the State of Minnesota Highway Dept.
On December 16, 1965 Myron was drafted by the US Army to begin his tour in Viet Nam. Myron's job was a canon specialist with the 80th Artillery. Myron was discharged February 8, 1968. After Myron was discharged from the US army in Ft. Carson, Colorado, Myron decided to make Colorado his home. Myron married Becky on June 5, 1971.
Myron enjoyed traveling by going and visiting his many relatives in Minnesota, traveling with the senior group or camping with family and friends. Myron was always on the search for the best deals on cars, whether it be in Auto Trader, on the internet or in the newspaper. Myron loved to going to Bandimere to hear and watch the loud/fast cars.
Myron worked for Samsonite as a supervisor on the loading dock. Myron took a job with IML as a loading dock supervisor and was promoted to in-city truck driver. Myron drove for many companies including Church Hill, Delta-MaClane and retired from Consolidated Freight in 1998. After retirement Myron drove for Enterprise Rental and Welby Gardens hauling flowers over the road with his buddies.
Myron enjoyed collecting and refurbishing Mopar cars. Myron was an avid Denver Bronco and Minnesota Viking fan and also enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Nuggets. Myron enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and gambling in Blackhawk. The light of his life was his grandchildren and Great Grandchild. In September 2017 he took part in the Honor Flight to Washington DC and was featured in the Brighton Blade on Veterans Day.
Myron was so honored to take part in and made so many happy memories with his friends and fellow veterans. Myron is survived by his wife Becky, children Mark Merrele of MN, Bernie (Laura) Moreno of Aurora CO; Robin (Chris) Smith of Thornton; and Myron Wagner Jr. of Commerce City. Including grandchildren Zach, Jordin, Bryan, Austin and Breena and great grandchild Quinn.
Also survived by 7 brothers; Allen, Darrel, Donald, Dean, Dennis, Ronald and James, and 8 sisters; Erma, Donna, Joan, Annette, Doris, Barbara, Sharon and Joyce. Myron is proceeded in death by 3 brothers; Bernie, Leo and Earl, both of his parents, and daughter-in-law, Sue. Rosary service will be held on Friday January 11, 2019 at 10:30am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am at Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Interment will be held on Monday, January 14 at 12:30 at Ft Logan National Cemetery Staging Area "B". Please meet at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home at 11:00am for funeral procession to Fort Logan Cemetery.
