Beverly Hopson Obituary
Beverly Ann (Decious) of Broomfield, Colorado, passed peacefully to her heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Bev was born to Marjorie and Ernest Decious in Marion, Iowa and was the fourth of five children. Bev grew up in Marion and graduated from Marion High School. She met and fell in love with Irvin Glen Hopson of Broomfield by introduction by her older sister while visiting in Colorado. A short time later, the two were married at the United Church of Christ of Broomfield where she and her husband remained members to this day. Bev enjoyed gardening, visiting Black Hawk (for a cheeseburger), spending hot summer days at the pool, and playing bridge with Broomfield friends. She served on several boards and committees at the church, she was a cub scout and brownie leader, she worked at the learning lab at Emerald Elementary School, and was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She doted on her family and was happiest spending time with friends, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Bev are her father and mother, her sisters and brothers, and a grandson. Bev will be missed by her husband Glen Hopson, and her children: Scott (Misti) Hopson, Amy (Mark) Dodge, and Gregory Hopson; her grandchildren: Keegan (Chelsea Abbott) Hopson, Kendrick Hopson, Morgan Stengle, and Olivia Hopson (Charlene & Brad Lutton), Emily (Danny) Flanagan; Michael (Marlayna Robertson) Barber, Dominic (Lexis Trujillo) Senatore; her great-grandchildren: Jayden, Daisy Mae, Sebastian, Connor, Liam, Willow, and Wiatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service to be held at the United Church of Christ of Broomfield, 825 Kohl Street, Broomfield, CO at 2:00 pm on March 26, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or United Church of Christ.
