She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Herman Higel and Elsie Higel; her siblings, Patty (Harold), Richard (Shirley), Helen (Gerry) and Margaret (Tom); her husband Dave; and her daughter Julia. She was also cherished by her children, grandchildren (16), great grandchildren (22), and great great grandchild.

Donations in memory of Ruth may be made to the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, where she enjoyed the beautiful gardens and attended summer performances nearby.
