With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith Ailene Berndt of Brush, Colorado, who passed away on June 12, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Edith Ailene may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Edith Ailene touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Almer Art and Clara Mabel Porter; and her daughter Debra Meschke (Jim). She is survived by: her former husband Bobby Pfost; her children, Patricia Simon (Steve) of Bloomfield, CO, Lina Myers (Byron) of Norfolk, NE and Michael Pfost (Mick) of Brush, CO; her husband Harold Berndt; and her pet Yancy. She is also survived by three children, 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Heer Mortuary (222 Cameron St, Brush, CO 80723). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Memory Gardens Cemetery (601 W 8th Ave, Fort Morgan, CO 80701).
