He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Chess. He is survived by: his children, Ethel Gately, Dick Chess, Elsie Chess, Joe Chess, Gene Gately and Diana White; and his grandson Bradley Chess. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
