With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Elaine Woolsey of Canon City, Colorado, born in Mankato, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 28, 2026 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Young and Alta Young; her brothers, Merle Young, Carl Young and Lloyd Young; and her grandchildren, Heather Woolsey and Dylan Billingsly.
She is survived by: her children, David, Sheila Woolsey, Pam, Jim Rogers, Roger and Melissa Woolsey; her grandchildren, Raquel Woolsey, Bart, Frances Woolsey, Otis, Courtney Rogers, Bobby, Elyse Rogers, Shelby Woolsey and Lane Woolsey; and her great grandchildren, Sofia Carlock, Camille Woolsey, Arya Woolsey, Roxanne Rogers and Ben Rogers.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Lakeside Cemetery (1008 Elm Ave, Cañon City, CO 81212).
In lieu of flowers or other tributes, those wishing to honor Elaine are encouraged to donate to the Humane Society in their own communities—a fitting tribute to a woman who gave so much to others.
