He was predeceased by : his sisters, Sharon West and Betty White. He is survived by : his significant other Pat Wright; his siblings, Mary Hewlett, Donna Downs, Gene Thompson and Tracy Thompson; his children, Ramona Johnson and Charles Thompson; and his grandchildren, Lisa, Joe, Evan and Brock. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Holt Chapel of the Garden (806 Macon Ave, Cañon City, CO 81212).
