He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Schmidt and Edith Schmidt; and his sister Dorothy Russell. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wheeler; his son Matthew; his daughter-in-law Tiffany; his son Blair; his daughter-in-law Anne; and his grandchildren, Mira and Parker.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (790 Greydene Ave, Cañon City, CO 81212).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Cañon City.
