He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Zimmerman and Marie Zimmerman (Pohl); his siblings, Frank, Robert, Richard Zimmerman, Kathleen Jones and Mary Ann Palmasino; his nephew Frank Zimmerman (Gina); and his siblings-in-law, Kay, Helen, Paulie, Pauline Zimmerman, Jim Jones and Richard Palmasino.

He is survived by : his wife Sonny Zimmerman (Stewart); his children, Sherry Zimmerman (Jeff Teter) and John Zimmerman (Liane "Buffie" McFadyen); his grandchildren, Ben Eric Bustos, Amanda (Zimmerman) and Bendell (Brent); and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Camryn and Logan Bendell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
