He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Payne and Evelyn Payne; his grandmother Hannah Payne; and his grandchildren, Seth, Madison, Camille, Christopher, Kelly and Joan.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Wright (Douglas), Linda, Lee (Olga), Michael (Michelle), Mary Galloway (Dan), John (Bobbi Jo) and Mark (Jen); and his wife Gloria Whalen. He is also survived by his seven children, 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A rosary was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (2746 Fifth St, Castle Rock, CO 80104). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Denver Mortuary Chapel (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033). A committal service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery (12801 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033).
