He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Simon and Rita Pauline Smigay (Chase); and his son Jassen Smigay. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Smigay; his children, Shawn Barnes (Frank), Melissa Amador (Alex) and Patrick Smigay (Deanne); his grandchildren, Charlotte Barnes, Louise Smigay, Rowan Amador and Evan Amador; and his siblings, Steve Smigay (Cathy Ward), Jennie Smigay (Todd Makris) and Chris Volberding.
