She was predeceased by : her parents, Leslie Carlile and Suzanna Carlile (Kovatch); her husband Lowell R. Edwards; and her siblings, Clara Carlile Phillips and Donald Carlile.

She is survived by : her brother Richard Carlile (Debbie) of Orlando, Florida; and her children, Sharon Moore (Kevin) of Wolf Creek, Montana, Sandy Mingonet (Chuck) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Doug Edwards (Gina) of Eugene, Oregon. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Jane Page wrote a sympathy message

“I am sorry it has taken me so long to leave a message. I met Betty through Zonta, although I was in a different club. I always admired her poise, character and sense of fun. She always seemed to have a twinkle in her eye when the serious stuff was done. She took challenges head on, and we were all the better for it. I am so sorry for your loss, and I grieve with you. She was a great friend and she will be missed. Jane Page”
