She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Girling and Kathleen Girling; her brothers, Anthony and Geoff Girling; and her son Mark Carlson.
She is survived by: her husband George Carlson; her daughter Sharon Moody; and her grandchildren, Andrew Moody, Cameron Carlson and Colin Carlson.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home (3825 Airport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Space Foundation, where Janet volunteered more than 1000 hours and gave so generously of her time.
