With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mardella Cora Johnson Bergquist (Colorado Springs, Colorado), who passed away on January 4, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Johnson (Jay) and Wilma Johnson (Doud); her siblings, Ernest and Corrine; her siblings-in-law, Sylvia (Dean) and Dean (Sylvia); her husband Charlie; her son Rodney; and her grandson Zachary.
She is survived by: her brother Louis; her sister-in-law Donna; her nephews, Michael, Bruce and Milton; her niece Brenda; and her grandchildren, Lindsey, Alesha, Cora, Kristine, Jess, Matt, Kaitlin and Jamison.
After her husband passed in 2018 and the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, her favorite things to do were to go to the YMCA to work the rowing machine (she was freakishly strong) and go out to eat at her favorite bar and grills to drink ginger ale, eat guacamole, soup, desserts and "talk sh!t." A funeral or memorial service will be held on or near her birthday, July 30, 2026, in Colorado Springs.
