He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Utz and Cleo Utz; and his brother Norman Utz. He is survived by: his wife Karen Schooler; and his children, Katie (John Cox), Ryan, Jessica (Keith Barnett) and Kendall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the following organizations: Friends of Monument Valley Park, Palmer Land Conservancy, Pikes Peak Hospice, or Special Olympics Colorado.
