He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Smyrl; his children, Stephanie Smyrl (Russell Sanderson), Christie Miller, April Maynard and Chris Maynard (Stephanie Maynard); his brother Norman Smyrl; his brother-in-law Henry Miller; his grandchildren, Riely, Kaytlin, Payge, Landon, Alex, Izzy and Scarlett; and his sibling's children, Annie, William, Jaxon, Mark, Tracy, Tim and Jennifer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Forest Foundation and/or Habitat for Humanity in honor of Richard's legacy.
