Robert Eugene Simpson Obituary

Robert E. Simpson "Butch" passed away on Oct. 31, 2022. He was 80 years old. Butch was the son of Carolyn B. Olmsted (Kanost) and Victor E. Simpson. Butch was born in Imperial, NE on June 9, 1942. He grew up in Wauneta but left in 1971 to attend college. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, one infant sister, his brother, Nicholas R. Kanost and his sister, Susan Kanost. Butch is survived by his brother, Loren Kanost of Lincoln, NE. Also Butch's wife, Yolanda Simpson, two sons, Robert E. Simpson, II, Shawn E. Simpson, a granddaughter, Noella Simpson and a grandson Carter Simpson, all reside in Colorado Springs, CO. Butch was a RF/Microwave Design Engineer for more than 45 years. During his long career he worked for such campanies as Hewlett-Packard, Sandia National Labs and several others along with establishing his own company. Butch lived in Colorado more than 25 years and several years in New Mexico, where he met his wife, Yolanda. He retired in August 2016. Cremation was chosen and on Nov. 12, 2022 Butch was buried at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta, NE with a graveside service.
