He was predeceased by: his parents, Dolores Truss Slater and Charles Wayne Warren; and his stepparents, Graham Slater and Sue Warren. He is survived by: his brother John Nelson; his nephew Jon Nelson; and his great-nieces, Edie and Penny Nelson (Ryan Stuart).
