He was predeceased by: his mother Louella Luchion-Manson; his aunt Cora Luchion (Louella Luchion-Manson); his daughter Deborah Marie Tompkins-Mason; and his siblings, Helen Marie Tompkins, Alice Denise Tompkins, Gloria Jean Tompkins and Thomas James Tompkins Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Tompkins; his sister Erma Jean Boggess of Oklahoma City, OK; his sons, William Tompkins Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Clifford Tompkins (Valarie) of Aurora, CO and Kevin Tompkins of Missoula, MT.; his brothers, Glenn Tompkins and Willie E. Tompkins; his grandchildren, Chemetria Gueary, Tasha Gueary, Carol Tompkins and Christian Tompkins; and his great grandchild Zayana Tompkins. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
