He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Blanche Lenore Hilton and Harry Lester Benson; his grandfather George; his siblings, Robert and Viola; his son Scott; his wife Carolyn; his children, Cynthia, Jon Benson (Cyndi) of Boulder and Lisa Fowler (Chuck) of Fort Collins; his grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, Heather, David Benson, Aaron and Megan Fowler; his granddaughters-in-law, Leslie West and Michelle Benson; his great grandchildren, Emma and Tessa Benson; his brother-in-law Clifford Halstead (Susie) of Clifton, Texas.; and also Del Norte.

A graveside service will be held at the Del Norte, Colorado cemetery on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 2 p. m. Friends are invited to join in our social distancing service and are asked to please wear masks.
