She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Mary Kelly and James Kelly; her husband Virgil Kirsten; her sister Rosemary Casper; her children, Matthew, Caroline Kimble, Martin, Lawrence and Elizabeth Hogan; and her siblings, Thomas Kelly and Helen Kaiser. She was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
