He is survived by: his wife Johanna VanderLaan of Lone Tree; his sons, Tom VanderLaan (Sandy Kiesel VanderLaan) of Bonita Springs, FL and John VanderLaan (Meg) of Highlands Ranch, CO; his brothers, Herman VanderLaan (Annette), Nico VanderLaan (Annie) and Jos VanderLaan (Tiny); and his sister-in-law Nellie VanderLaan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
