She is survived by: her pets, Duke and Max; and her siblings, Carey Mitchelson, Sandy Purdue, Linda Kennedy (Jim), Eileen Simms (John) and Patricia Mitchelson (John). She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In honor of Jody's lifelong love for Golden Retrievers and the annual Goldens in Golden celebration, memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies.
