He was predeceased by: his former wife Jacqueline Avery; his parents, Lydia Hege and Kenneth Avery; his brothers, Peter Avery and Kenneth Avery Jr.; and his sons, John Avery and Thomas Avery.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Charis-Avery; his children, Jodi Burley (Elbert Burley), Jennifer Savig (Stuart Savig) and Ned Avery (Kim Avery); and his grandchildren, Gen Avery, Raymond Avery (Garyu), Seth McEwan, Alicia McEwan, Ashleigh Millison, Jennifer Peppler, Chelsey Lahr, Amber Yaeger, Tanner Avery, Josiah Savig, Tate Savig, Alec Savig, Katrina Savig-Wheeler and Blythe Burley.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 10th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the St. James Presbyterian Church (3601 W Belleview Ave, Littleton, CO 80123).
