Leroy Smith wrote a sympathy message

“Nate Owens! and I open the sandwich shop on Welton Street in Five points, We serve sandwiches and other things to go them, the premium sandwich was made on homemade bread that came from big Nate's Mothers recipe. That was so good and a success. Big Nate rest in your power. May God bless the family peace. Leroy Smith and family!!”

Leroy Smith wrote a sympathy message

“Nola, I'm so sad to hear about Nate's passing. We always called big Nate! As you know, he was devoted to you and his family and with Hiawatha Davis, Junior, and myself at the Eastside action center we called the movement. Big Nate was all in 100% loyal to the organization and was a big part of its success. So many things come to mind, one time he served as Cicsly Tyson's bodyguard, She was very nervous around people we shared with her that big Nate would watch her and sat outside her door.”
