He was predeceased by: his daughter Aleta Ulibarri Gomez (Emilio Gomez); his parents, Anna Tamez Madrid and Daniel Tamez; his siblings, John Tamez and Carmen Valdez; and his brother-in-law Leroy Valdez.
He is survived by: his wife Debbie Tamez; his children, Kristine Tamez, Brian Chavez (Donna), Carmelita Tamez, Jason Chavez (Lori) and Theresa Gonzales (Andrew); and his siblings, Anthony Tamez (Julie), Daniel Tamez (Erin Moore), Raymond Tamez (Rosalie), Ron Tamez, Lorraine Marez, Cynthia Trujillo (Richard), Rosemarie Wells (John) and Angelica Tamez. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
