“What a loss! I was a high school classmate at East, then at CU. We chose different academic paths, so had little contact. At multiple HS reunions, Purnell interacted as though we had always been best friends. I learned more about his life, interests, and aspirations at those relatively brief reunions than 3 years at East. Other classmates have expressed the same experience. As has been said, he never met a stranger. We miss him, musically and personally. Condolences to family. Andy Maierhofer”
