He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Horst (Reed); his son David; and his siblings, Doris (Merrick) and Alex. He is survived by: his son Jerry; his nephews, Tim, Jim and Ron Merrick; his close friend Robert Brown; his friend Mary Patterson; and his pet Sandy.
