It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sally Nadine Olsen of Denver, Colorado, who passed away on May 14, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Donald Sparn and Mickey Sparn (Eaton); her husband Marty; her daughters, Holly Jundt (Mark) of Bismarck, ND, Kari Gillen (Doug) of McKinney, TX and Amy Bratteli (John) of Fruita, CO; her grandchildren, Heidi Grenz (Matt) of Mandan, ND, Brandon Jundt of Bismarck, ND, Kate Gillen of Waco, TX, Jennifer Stang (Tyler) of Fruita, CO, Sarah Bratteli of Fruita, CO and Aaron Bratteli of Fruita, CO; her great grandchildren, Noah, Asher and Elijah Grenz of Mandan, ND.; her brother Stephen Sparn (Linda) of Boulder, CO; and her nephew Andrew Sparn (Bethany).

“I loved working with Sally, she was one of the first colleagues I co-taught with; she became a mentor and a wonderful friend. We spent many hours together each week, catching a quick lunch, reading papers, tabulating grades; She taught me a lot about viewing a situation from an open-approach perspective, always reassured me that I was on the right track and faculty discretion was on our side.
