She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Oswaldo Almodovar and Mercedes Rodriguez; her former husband Ray T. Welch; her son Raymond T. Welch II (Toni); her husband Bill Van Valkenburgh; and her children, Cooper Van Valkenburgh (Lisa), D'Dea Pond (Mark) and Simone Webb (Jerry).
