Tanner Shea Obituary

On the early morning of December 10th, 2020, Tanner Quizon Shea passed away at his home, at the age of 28.

Tanner was born on October 30, 1992 in Shiloh, IL to Dennis and Evelyn Shea. Being in a military family, Tanner moved around a few times, but got to enjoy his childhood to early adulthood in Aiea, HI. Tanner, a passionate aviator, flew as a commercial pilot for an aerial tour company in Los Angeles, and served an enlistment as a C-5 crew chief in the Air Force Reserves. In 2017, Tanner finally settled in Denver pursuing his career as a millwright. On June 20, 2020, he married Alexis Pira after spending eight years together, living in four major cities and adopting three rescue cats (Fred, Marlin and Vixen).

Outside of Tanner’s passion for aviation, he enjoyed travel and everything that life had to offer him. In more recent years, he enjoyed listening to music and learning how to play the piano. He loved learning about history and geography. He was known for his magnetic personality, his quick wit, his contagious laugh and his first class sense of humor.

He was preceded in his death by his grandpa, Richard “Dick” Shea and his grandma, Carol Shea.

He is survived by his wife Alexis, his parents Dennis and Evelyn, his brother Travis (Sarah Everly), his niece Addison, his step parents Esther Shea and Marty Wegener, and several cousins.

Memorial services planned for Summer of 2021 in Hawaii, depending upon covid restrictions at that time.

“In loving memory of Tanner Shea, He was one of few friends I made early in my high school. Tanner made my JROTC experience pretty fun and exciting. We would often do stupid stuff for a laugh and get in trouble then end up doing loads and loads of push ups. I miss you man. I'm glad I met you and we had good times together. Rest in peace brother.”

“I had the privilege to assist Tanner and Alexis in the purchase of their first home. It was an absolute honor to be part of a huge moment for them as a couple. I remember the wit and sarcasm Tanner showed impressed me. I also very much remember quite a gentleness to his seemingly old soul even though I didn’t get the chance to know him super well. I send love to the family, especially my dear friend Alexis. You are loved and lifted. Peace to you and so very sorry sweetness”
