He is survived by: his daughter Binta Cross (Denver); his wife Dawn Cross (Denver); his sisters, Charlene Walker, Judy Hagen (Las Vegas) and Mary Pat Cross (Chicago); and his nieces, Leigh Dailey Cross and Ashleigh Cross St. Peters (Chicago).
A recognized leader in the field, Dr. Cross served as president of APA Division 45 and received numerous prestigious awards for his groundbreaking scholarship, including the American Psychological Association's highest honor: The Lifetime contributions to psychology award in 2022.
