It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kirk Kinard James of Durango, Colorado, who passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father William Hastings James (Bill); his father-in-law Merle Royce; and his granddaughter Kinley Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Royce James; his mother Charlene James (Char); his mother-in-law Virginia Royce; his brother Terry James (Susan); his nephews, Grady James (Hayley Ohl) and Logan James; his stepdaughter Kristin Pettinger (Matt); his stepgrandchildren, Paxton, Peyton, Preston, Jaycee and Jentree; his stepdaughter Katie Mitchell (Kelly); his stepgrandson Cooper; his stepdaughter Kassi Paxton; his stepgrandchildren, Rhianna, Eli and Otto; and his aunts, Sherry Hanna (John), Barbara Fudge and Betty Dobbs.
