We announce the death of Shelly Smith of Eckley, Colorado, who passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 64. She was predeceased by: her father John Fredrick Newbanks; her grandparents, Spencer Newbanks and Izero Newbanks; her stepgrandmother Opal Newbanks (Wisdom); and her grandparents, Lee and Grace Williams.
She is survived by: her mother Connie Ruth Newbanks (Williams); her children, Chelsea Spencer (Michael Parker (Keeper)) and Chantz Russell (Kyli Smith); her husband Wade Smith of Eckley; her grandchildren, Roamy Kay and Mila Kaydee; her sisters, Kelli Newton (Joe) and Debbie Drury (Derek); her nieces and nephews, Pyper Miller (Zach), Reid Drury (Annawynn), Dory Trujillo (TJ) and Monica Veliz (Monty); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Raelynn Drury, Baker Veliz, Anderson Drury, Elowen Miller, Miles Veliz, Axl Trujillo and Rush Miller.
