He was predeceased by : his wife Betty Jo Davis Schaugaard (BJ); his son Troy Schaugaard; his sister Colletta Schaugaard; and his parents, Bertrum Schaugaard and Thelma Adamson Schaugaard.

He is survived by : his daughters, Leslie Campbell (Ron), Kristen Schaugaard-Green (Stephen), Collette Brown (Len) and Biz Schaugaard (Gov Landrum); his grandchildren, Maddie, Nate Wilshire, Davis, Walker Brown, Emma and Sam Green; his brothers, Ross Schaugaard and Gary Schaugaard; and his brother-in-law Jim Davis.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Duke Home Health and Hospice.
