He was predeceased by : his parents, Leo S. Ray and Sara Alice Martin; his brother Robert Ray; his grandson Scottie Terreault; and his sons-in-law, Frank Montoya, Eddie Terreault and Darren Spoering.

He is survived by : his wife Rosalie J. Ray; his children, William "Bill" Ray (Barbara), Teresa Hulett (Mike), Sandra McGill, Diane Terreault and Pamela Spoering; his sisters, Sharon Roanhorse (Herman) and Betty Ray; and his grandchildren, Sarena, Dane, Melissa, Stephen, Megan, Sandi, Andrea, Glen, Jennifer, Jessica, Amber and Jonathan.
