She was predeceased by: her parents, Aser DePaz and Juanita DePaz; her husband Charley Townsend; and her brother Aser "Cherry" DePaz. She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Townsend Sakala (Hilda); her son-in-law Criss Sakala; her grandsons, Kellen Sakala (Gicela Chen) and Holden Sakala (Kati Maselli); and her siblings, Carmen Rodriguez, Millie Rovira and Bernardo DePaz. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was part of the FRCC team that was recognized for outstanding contributions to single parents by The Women's Center of Larimer County in 2001.
