He is survived by: his children, Mike Sweat (Kathy) of Lansing and Deb House (Jim) of Folsom, California. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He devoted his professional career to veterinary virology, a field that reflected both his sharp mind and his desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
