She was predeceased by: her parents, Forest Stewart and Mary Stewart (Rogers); her husband Kenneth Lawton; her siblings, Margaruite, Marjorie Stewart, Robert Lee Stewart and Wilna Stewart; and her siblings-in-law, William Moreland and Marlene Stewart.

She is survived by: her daughter Mary Ellen (Steve Lotze); her grandson Joseph (Shelby Lotze); her great grandchildren, Adelyn, Samuel, Natalie and Jordan Lotze; her grandchildren, Caleb, Isaac, Micah Lotze and Heidi (Kevin Christensen); her great grandchildren, Emma, Cole, Atlas and Christensen; her daughter Becky (Brent Hall); her grandsons, Travis (Kirah Hall) and Shawn (Kara Hall); her great grandchildren, Conor and Ava Hall; her children, Margaret Lawton of Fruita, Colorado., John Lawton of Loma, Colorado. and Gilford "Gil" (Taneil Lawton); her granddaughter Tirzah (Josiah Burr); her great grandchildren, Timothy, Jonathan and Jason Burr; her grandchildren, Azariah, Zebadiah, Talitha, Tabitha, Zurishaddai, Uriah, Tikvah, Taaviah and Taaniah Lawton; and her siblings, Sam Stewart (Jo Marie) of Montrose, Bill Stewart (June) of Montrose, Colorado and Janet Moreland of Webb City, Missouri. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

After having COVID, a stroke, and respiratory failure in 2021, Bettie was no longer able to continue working for Target.
