He was predeceased by: his wife Lola Jean Popken of Mary's Church; his brothers, George, Hank, Don and Ray; his daughter Lori Lynn; and his parents, George Popken and Josephine Popken.
He is survived by: his sister Carol Sorenson; his children, Brian (Janice), Douglas (Susie) and Pamela Popken-Harris (Lester Harris); his grandchildren, Ben (Chris), Adam (Brittany) and Stephanie; and his great grandchild Milo.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Andrew United Methodist Church (9203 S University Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO 80126). Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Fort Logan Military Cemetery (4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236).
