She was predeceased by: her parents, George Goldsborough and Nettie Goldsborough; her daughter-in-law Lela Dowd; and her grandson Jason Lee. She is survived by: her children, Donald Jr. (Angie), Ben (Laura), Frances Baer (Ron) and Patty Lee; her husband John "Than" Simpson; and her stepchildren, Jody Simpson (Judy), Ann Alderman-Hegre, Bonnie Wiggins (Lloyd) and Gary Simpson. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
