Ella Augusta O'Banion went to be with her Lord on Friday, February 19, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born May 2, 1933 on a farm in Tarkio, Missouri to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Walter. She was the fifth child of ten, all deceased. She worked multiple jobs while attending college and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Northwest Missouri State College in 1958. The next year in Brighton, Colorado she married Donald O'Banion, a Missouri friend fresh out of the Marine Corps. She then went on to live in Grand Junction and taught at Lincoln OM Elementary school. In 1961 she became a mother and a homemaker when her first son, David, was born followed by Daniel in 1964. Over the years she was involved with 4-H, FFA, and church services at The Fountains Assisted Living Community. Ella loved the outdoors-camping, hiking, and fishing but her greatest joy was her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Donald E. O'Banion; children, David O'Banion, Daniel and Kara O'Banion; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

“Uncle Don, David and Dan, I know the loss is deep but I know Aunt Ella is no longer in pain and rests in the arms of Jesus. Memories the summer of 1975 when I stayed for a few months, were Ella could drive that standard Volvo like a boss and she tried to teach me. I didn’t get the hang of it that summer but I did eventually learn. The camping trip, seeing how the irrigation worked using the canals to water the orchard and so much more. Greatest summer ever.
