He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Alvin and Eva Katherine Smith (Powles); and his siblings, Charles Smith (Wilma), Sidney Smith and Delores Jones.
He is survived by: his son Derek Smith (Cari) of Grand Junction, CO; and his siblings, Keith Smith (Linda), Judy Auxier (Keith) and Carolyn Johnson (Max). He is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses, and thirteen great grandchildren.
