He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Kindsfather and Elizabeth Kindsfather (Wambolt); his siblings, Harry, Charles, Henry and Mary Jane; his grandsons, John Michael and Chris Lilly; and his son-in-law Mike Whitaker.
He is survived by: his children, Kirsten McKay of Windsor, Colorado, Sandy Schemp of Johnstown, Colorado, Debbie Whitaker of Cheyenne, Wyoming, John Kindsfather, Jr. (Linda) and Andrew Johnson (Jenn) of Denver, Colorado; his grandchildren, Melissa Rutledge (Kreis), Haley Wagstrom (Nick), Cody McKay, Amanda Draegert (Todd), Brad Paris, Chelsea Burchi, Brook Whitaker, Zach Whitaker, Josh Kindsfather, Matt Lilly, Amy Lilly, Jennifer Bell (Aaron), Mariah Montoya (Chris) and Lindsey Schemp; and his great grandchild Luka McKay. He is also survived by two great-great-grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Adamson Life Celebration Home (2000 47th Ave, Greeley, CO 80634). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Adamson's (2000 47th Ave, Greeley, CO 80634). A burial was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at the Lakeview Cemetery (32815 CO-257, Windsor, CO 80550). He remained a dedicated employee until the COVID-19 pandemic forced his retirement after many years of faithful service.
