He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Ignacio Hernandez and Manuela Sias Castillo; his sons, Alonso Hernandez and Jaime Hernandez; and his granddaughter Pearlita Hernandez.

He is survived by: his wife Eva Miranda of Hernandez; his children, Guadalupe (Elsa), Aurelia (Humbert), Raul (Corrine), Alfredo (Cathy), Adela (Monserath), Abel (Laura), Irma (Florentino), Reyes (Luzelena) and Magdalena (Horacio); and his siblings, Alejandro (Josephina), Juan Jose (Ofelia), Gil, Eugenio Hernandez and Consuelo Hernandez of Sosa. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
